Donations for Medic 1 are very low this year, according to a group formed to help provide funds for the service.

Somerset Women for Medic 1 was formed in 1974 when a few women in the Somerset neighborhood decided to give the proceeds of bridge tournament games to the newly formed Bellevue Fire Department Medic 1 organization. Since that time, Somerset Women for Medic 1, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit, has continued to contribute independently, as well as hosting fundraisers and handling donations and memorial contributions sent to the fire department.

One-hundred percent of the donations the group raises are used to support medical training and supplies that directly benefit Bellevue Fire Department’s Medic 1 services.

The group is asking residents to send tax-deductible donations to Somerset Women for Medic 1, c/o Bellevue Fire Department, P.O. Box 90012, Bellevue WA 98009-9012.
