The Bellevue-based Seattle Humane Society is offering a variety of holiday events for people and their pets. Activities include such things as “Santa Paws,” or the “Home 4 the Holidays” adoption celebration. Also available are the 2010 Power of Companionship calendar, a pet adoption gift certificate, a visit to The Giving Tree, or by making a life-saving donation to the shelter in honor of a loved one.
“After all,” said CEO Brenda Barnette, Humane Society CEO, “what better gift can any of us give this holiday season than to save the life of an orphaned animal?”
The 2010 calendar, Power of Companionship, costs $15, with the proceeds supporting the orphaned dogs, cats and critters in the Seattle Humane Society’s care. Many pets in the calendar are shelter pets who are now in homes of their own. They are featured as the result of winning bids at the Tuxes & Tails Celebrity and Pet Fashion Show and Auction.

An adoption gift certificate will allow a person to select a pet for themselves. The certificates have no expiration date, giving the recipient as much time as it takes for Humane Society adoption counselors to help find the perfect match.
