Inter-faith event to explore common heritage

St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Bellevue, will host an inter-faith event known as “The Abrahamic Conversation” at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26.

The event seeks to reveal the common heritage among Jews, Christians and Muslims and how people might affirm their differences in a manner that honors the God of us all. For example, how are Jews, Christians and Muslims related to Abraham of the Old Testament and to his God? Why is this question important to people of the 21st century and how might its exploration provide a solution for global tension?

A panel of experts includes James L. Mirel, Rabbi of Temple B’nai Torah, Imam Joban of the Muslim Association of Puget Sound and Bishop Wm. Chris Boerger, Northwest Washington Synod (Evangelical Lutheran Church of America). Pastor Tom Kidd of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church will moderate the round table discussion.

St. Luke’s is located at 3030 Bellevue Way NE.
