Mago Huang, a junior at Interlake High School, won Honorable Achievement in the fifth annual Safeway-Lucerne art competition “The Art of Dairy.” The competition, which involved painting a cow with various designs, had as its theme this year “Taste of Moo-sic.”

The award carries with it a $1,000 prize for the student and another $1,000 prize for the student’s teacher.

Apart from Honorable Achievement, there are also First Prize and Grand Prize awards. The First Prize winner receives $2,500 while his or her teacher receives another $2,500 and the student’s school receives $5,000. The Grand Prize winner receives $5,000, his or her teacher receives $5,000, and the school receives $20,000.

Out of 30 finalists from around the nation, three are given Honorable Achievements, one is given the First Prize, and one is given the Grand Prize.
