Interlake High School students walked the red carpet at the National Association for Music Education’s All-National Honor Ensemble Oct. 29 in Nashville, Tenn., before taking the stage at the Grand Ole Opry House. From left to right, Chance Sweetser, Trey Sakazaki, Emily Sun and Rolanda Fu. Fu and Sun studied under Gerard Schwarz, Music Director Eastern Music Festival, Conductor, Laureate, Seattle Symphony and were two of four students from Washington state named to the 150-member symphony orchestra, while Sakazaki and Sweetser were two of three teens from Washington named to the 150-member concert band. Sakazaki and Sweetser took direction from Mark Camphouse of George Mason University.
