KidsQuest Children’s Museum surpasses 500,000 visitors
More than 500,000 children and adults have passed through the doors of KidsQuest Children’s Museum in Bellevue since the facility opened on December 11, 2005.
The museum, in Factoria Mall, has with 6,000 feet of hands-on fun and learning for children ages birth to age 10. A museum of KidsQuest’s size generally sees 60,000 visitors per year, museum officials say.
“Never in our wildest dreams did we imagine that KidsQuest Children’s Museum would bring so many families through our doors in such a short amount of time,” said Executive Director Putter Bert. “It’s really a testament to the need for a children’s museum that is accessible to families living on the Eastside.”
Since opening, KidsQuest has continued to expand its educational programming. The youngest visitors can take part in Discovery Tots which helps them develop the skills needed to start school and involves their parents in the learning process with them.
Homeschooled students can come to KidsQuest and take programs in art, drama and science to expand their experiences.
KidsQuest offers family science classes, an after-school science club and craft workshops. Schools can come to KidsQuest for a field trip or KidsQuest can bring a field trip to the school with Field Trips to Go. Summer camps and birthday parties also are offered.
