Residents of two homes on West Lake Sammamish Parkway had to be evacuated due to a mudslide Sunday.

Residents of four homes on West Lake Sammamish Parkway had to be evacuated due to a water main break Sunday.

The break, which occurred at the 500 block of Lake Sammamish Parkway Southeast, caused a landslide that broke through water and gas lines, and the residents were evacuated as a precaution. West Lake Sammamish Drive is closed from Northeast Second at Northup to Southeast 26th until further notice, with local access only, Bellevue utility officials said. The road is undermined and will be closed indefinitely. Motorists should plan on taking an alternate route until further notice.

The water main break occurred sometime after 11:45 a.m. on Sunday.

No one was injured by the slide.

The broken main was shut off, and several homes are without water. At this time, the cause of the main break remains unknown.

Bellevue School District bus service has been cancelled in that area of West Lake Sammamish Parkway.

Parents with children who ride the bus in that area should be in contact with their child’s school to be notified when bus service will resume.

Allied Waste Services may not be able to collect garbage from some homes on the Parkway, but is looking into alternate forms of collection.
