Lake Washington Technical College offering fall horticulture classes

A series of Saturday morning plant and design workshops will be offered this fall at the Kirkland campus of Lake Washington Technical College.

A series of Saturday morning plant and design workshops will be offered this fall at the Kirkland campus of Lake Washington Technical College.

The courses are designed for both home gardeners and green industry professionals. The hands-on courses, which have a cost, will be offered through the college’s continuing education department.

Workshop dates and topics are:

Fall Container Design: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 11

Deciduous Tree Identification: 9 a.m. to noon Sept. 18

Deciduous Shrub Identification: 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 16, 23, 30

Broadleaf Evergreen Shrubs: 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 6, 13, 20

Holiday Wreath Making: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 4

Each class will meet at the Kirkland campus horticulture complex. Continuing education credits for ISA, CPH, CLT and APLD are available.
