Lane closures coming on Main Street forBellevue’s ‘big dig’

Main Street between 106th and 107th avenues Northeast will be reduced to one lane in each direction for about two months, starting Tuesday, Sept. 16. A sewer pipe is being replaced, and a large excavator will need room to dig 20 to 30 feet down to reach the pipe. Motorists and pedestrians will be routed around the work zone.

For about a week at the start of the project, 106th Avenue Northeast will be closed to through traffic at Main Street. As the pipe work continues east, 107th Avenue Northeast will be closed to through traffic at Main Street for approximately a week while the final piping and manhole is set.

To avoid traffic congestion, motorists should use alternate routes, such as Northeast Fourth Street and 108th Avenue Northeast. Businesses will remain open during construction. If you have questions about the project, call Utilities Engineering at 425-452-6977.
