Sen. Steve Litzow (R-41st) has been re-elected as chairman of the Senate Early Learning and K-12 Education Committee. He led the committee in 2013.
The district includes the southern half of Bellevue.
Public education is expected to be in the spotlight as the Legislature is under a court order to pour more money into classrooms.
In addition to his leadership role on the education committee Litzow will continue serving on the Senate Transportation Committee. He also will serve as a member of the Financial Institutions and Insurance Committee.
The Legislature is set to convene for its 105-day session on Jan. 12.
