The Chinese Information and Service Center is holding a Long-term Care Resource Fair from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday June 27 at the Crossroads Community Center.
The purpose of the fair is to provide family caregivers a better understanding on what long-term care is, information on what to look for in a long-term care plan, what kind of long-term care insurance plans may match their needs, a chance to talk to long-term care insurance professionals, and a chance to talk to different long-term care providers.
Insurance companies that provide long-term care plans and long-term care providers (such as nursing home and adult family home) will be at the Fair. In addition to information booths, a number of workshops will be held:
“Long-term Care Insurance Plan Overview” conducted by SHIBA (Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors), 12:45 – 1:30 p.m. Chinese; 2:15 – 3:30 p.m. English
“Long-term Care Options” conducted by a case manager for the Department of Aging and Disability, City of Seattle, 12:45 – 1:30 p.m. English; 2:15 – 3:30 p.m. Chinese
