Major road construction is coming to Bel-Red Road, and will last throughout the fall.
Starting this Friday, Aug. 26, crews from Bellevue Utilities will replace aging sewer main pipes on Bel-Red Road to “increase sewer capacity for anticipated growth” between 148th and 152nd avenues.
The public can expect lane closures and construction activities that will likely result in congestion, delays and occasional periods of elevated noise.
The following traffic impacts on the road will require alternate routes to avoid one lane roads and intersection work:
• Reduction to one lane each way on Bel-Red Road between 148th and 152nd avenues Northeast. Aug. 29 to Oct. 31, weekdays 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• 148th Avenue Northeast intersection work: Aug. 26 to 29, Friday, 8 p.m. through Monday, 6 a.m.; Oct. 29 to 30 Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
• Northeast 20th Street intersection work: Oct. 1 to 2, 15 to 16, 22 to 23, 29 to 30; Saturdayto Sunday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The project will have flaggers and signage, but access to driveways and businesses will remain open.
