King County Sheriff deputies are investigating a shooting that occurred around 2 a.m. Tuesday just off I-90 at mile post 37, just east of North Bend.

The victim stumbled out of the woods shortly after 2 a.m. and flagged down a motorist who called 9-1-1. The man was taken to Overlake Hospital via the fire department.

Sheriff’s deputies had difficulty interviewing the man due to language problems, so the circumstances surrounding the shooting are still murky, officials say. The man appears to be in his 40s.
