Man’s death said a homicide

Man's body found on N.E. 24 and 158th N.E. on Unigard property in Bellevue on Tuesday, April 22.

The death of a 33-year-old Bellevue man found at the Unigard Office Park Tuesday afternoon is now considered a homicide. Preliminary investigations suggest violence was involved in the death, although the actual cause has not yet been made public.

Bellevue Police Department investigators continue to study the victim’s background and reconstruct the events leading to his death. No further details are expected to be released until next week.

Homicides in Bellevue are unusual, with the last one occurring in October of 2006. The violent crime rate remains very low for a city the size of Bellevue, with the large majority of victims knowing their assailant.

The investigation began at approximately 3:20 PM on Tuesday, March 21st, when Bellevue Police received a 911 call from an employee who saw the victim’s body at the office park.

Bellevue and Redmond police cars cordoned off a landscaped area, which is part of the corporate headquarters of Unigard.

Grannis stated that the body was that of a man and that it had been there for some time. He described the death as suspicious because of the man’s age and the unusual location where the body was discovered.
