Dude, where’s my weed?: A citizen picked up a box that USPS left on her doorstep, which she thought was for her and opened it. The box contained two large bags of marijuana, and was addressed to be shipped to Hawaii with her neighbor’s address as the return address. Later that evening, a man named "Ryan" came to her front door asking about the package. The woman stated she had not seen any package, obtained his cell phone number and contacted police.

January 11

Burglary suspect busted: The Seattle SWAT team served a warrant on this residence and requested a marked Bellevue unit to stay in the area while the warrant was being served. The suspect was already in custody at the time of service, but he had a possible roommate. The original crime was an unoccupied burglary where several high-powered rifles, handguns and ballistic gear were stolen. The warrant was served without incident. Seattle police requested a uniformed officer provide security while they collected numerous firearms, a large amount of ammunition and several pieces of body armor.

Afternoon swim: During a foot chase of an assault suspect near the Southeast Eighth Street Park and Ride, K9 police unit Roc and his handler had to wade into a nearby bog. Roc and his handler had to swim through chest-deep water, but did capture the suspect.

January 12

January 13

Baffling baby: A passerby reported a subject on the Main Street overpass over I-405 crying and holding a baby over the railing above the freeway. Upon contact, the subject was found to be holding a bundle of personal belongings (that happened to very much resemble a baby). The subject was cooperative, but under the influence of something.

Drug drama: Two juveniles were getting high on “Molly” (MDMA), and got into an argument over the distribution of the drug. One teenager chased the other outside with a broken glass pipe. Once outside, a fight began and the suspect assaulted the victim with a box cutter-style knife. The victim suffered severe wounds on his arm and was rushed to Overlake Medical Center.

January 14

Mystery marijuana: The property/leasing manager at the Overlook At Lakemont Apartments opened a manila envelope addressed to the leasing office. Inside, she discovered a large bag of marijuana. There was no return recipient name or return address. The marijuana was booked for destruction.

Sticky fingers found: Two known shoplifters were seen in Ulta concealing multiple cosmetic items and left the store without paying for the items. One suspect was in a wheelchair, which slowed his or her escape. The pair was arrested across the street. Between the two of them, they had stolen around $1,000 in products.

Car strikes male in crosswalk: The victim and a friend were crossing Northup Way at a crosswalk when a westbound car failed to yield and hit him. The victim suffered serious injuries, including a compound leg fracture and a head injury. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center and is expected to survive.

Collision results in rollover: Officers responded to a T-bone traffic collision resulting in a vehicular rollover in the intersection of Northeast Eighth Street and 112th Avenue Northeast. One driver was transported to Overlake Medical Center with minor injuries. The crash was captured by red light camera at the intersection.

January 16

Odious odor: Two officers were checking on a vehicle with a strong chemical odor coming from inside. The car turned out to have been stolen out of Renton. The suspect used some type of accelerant, possibly paint thinner, to try and torch the vehicle, which created the strong odor. The officers had some temporary issues from the fumes, but were medically assessed and are fine.
