Master Chorus Eastside (MCE) is holding auditions for openings in the alto, tenor and bass sections for the remainder of its season. The Chorus presents J.S. Bach’s St. John Passion in March, and in celebration of its 20th season, a retrospective of time called Seasons of Life in May.

MCE will conclude its season in June with its popular All-American Independence Celebration at Issaquah’s historic Pickering Barn. All interested singers must have choral music experience and basic music reading ability.

Now beginning its 20th season, Master Chorus Eastside enriches and unites the community through sharing the joy and inspiration of choral music as we grow into a nationally recognized choir. MCE presents a four-concert season and is known for its innovative and imaginative programming. MCE performs mainly on the Eastside, but has appeared in Benaroya Hall, throughout western Washington, and in numerous performances on the Argosy Christmas ship.

The Chorus also participated in the Jamestown anniversary celebrations in 2007, appeared at the Third and Fourth Annual Choral Festivals in Leavenworth, and in performances on the Columbia River as part of the Lewis and Clark 200th anniversary celebrations. All concerts feature informative commentary and historical information presented by Artistic Director & Conductor, Dr. Linda Gingrich. Gingrich is a long-time Issaquah resident and founder and conductor of Master Chorus Eastside. She received her Doctoral and Masters degrees in Choral Conducting from the University of Washington and her Bachelors degree in voice from Cornish College of the Arts.

MCE is a primary Eastside cultural resource on the Eastside committed to nurturing connections between people, neighborhoods and community through our performances and civic efforts.
