A cougar sighted Saturday in the area of the 1800 block of Evergreen Point Road in Medina apparently was killed by a car on I-405 in Bellevue on Sunday night.

According to The Associated Press, the cougar, an adult male, may have come out of the Cascades and attempting to make its way back home when it was hit while crossing the freeway.

The Medina sighting Saturday followed a report that a cougar had killed a duck.

Wildlife officers searched for the cougar Saturday after the duck was killed.
