Medina Police are advising residents about solicitation now that summer months are approaching.

Police say that between the hours of 9 a.m. and 9 p.m., peddling and solicitation are allowed, provided that the individual respects posted signage and leaves the property when asked to do so by the homeowner.

Residents who do not wish peddlers or solicitors come to your home can indicate their desire by displaying a sign which states “No Trespassing” or “No Soliciting” on their property. If such a sign is posted, solicitors are not allowed to enter the premises.

Police add that regardless of signage, if they have an encounter with a solicitor that they believe is suspicious or that makes them feel uneasy, they can call 911 and speak to an officer.
