Medina Police stopped a vehicle with no rear license plate May 18 and discovered that the car was stolen from a rental agency in Georgia.

When police stopped the driver at about 1:17 p.m. in the 2800 block of 84th Avenue NE, the driver claimed the license plate fell off in the snow as he was traveling from Georgia. The driver added the vehicle was a rental.

Investigation by the officer revealed the subject was long over-due in returning the rental car and had not communicated with the rental agency. The officer confirmed the vehicle was in fact stolen and took the subject into custody.

In addition, a records check confirmed the subject had an outstanding felony warrant out of Georgia for forgery. The subject was booked into King County Jail.
