King County Metro Transit is making changes next October to several bus routes currently serving Bellevue and Redmond. Metro will host two open house meetings to provide information, answer questions, and get feedback on the proposals that have been developed.
A Redmond meeting will be held from 6:30-8 p.m. Jan. 25 at Redmond City Hall, 15672 NE 85th St. It will deal with Metro routes 221, 230, 248, 253, and ST 545)
A Bellevue meeting will be from 6:30-8 p.m. Jan. 26 at
Bellevue City Hall, 450 110th Ave. NE. It will deal withMetro routes 222, 230, 234, 240, 253, 271 and ST 535, 550, 560 and 566)
The RapidRide B Line will provide frequent, fast, and reliable service between the transit centers in downtown Bellevue and Redmond via the Crossroads and Overlake areas. Metro is looking to adjust bus routes to provide good connections with the B Line and Sound Transit Express bus routes.
Some existing bus routes will be discontinued, so that Metro can reinvest service hours into routes where the demand is higher:
Metro is proposing cancellation of routes 225, 229, 230 (east), 247, 253, 256, 261, 266, 272, and 926;
Metro is proposing routing or service changes for routes212, 221, 222, 230 (west), 233, 234, 240, 245, 246, 249, 250, 255, 265, and 271;
No changes are planned at this time for routes 232, 242, 243, 248, 251, 268, 269, 277, and 280.
