A recent court ruling will bring an end to Metro Transit's special transportation services for Mariners baseball games.

A recent court ruling will bring an end to Metro Transit’s special transportation services for Mariners baseball games.

The ruling says that private coach operators must be allowed to provide the service if they are able.

Metro has sent the Mariners the 14-day service termination notice that is required by the contract between Metro and the team. That notice states that Metro’s special transportation services for the baseball games will end after the June 18-24 home stand.

Fans can still use regular Metro and Sound Transit bus and light rail service to travel to Safeco Field on game days. They should use the Regional Trip Planner (www.kingcounty.gov/tripplanner) to find the routes and services that work best for them.
