Missing 10-year-old East Redmond girl found safe in Seattle

The King County Sheriff's Office is searching for a missing 10-year-old East Redmond girl who was reported missing by her father on Monday, Sept. 14.

Update: As of 9:20 pm, Abbey has been found by searchers and will be evaluated by medical personnel.

Abbey was found when she walked into a business in downtown Seattle, near 8th Ave and Olive St. Store employees called the Seattle Police Department, and she was taken to the West Precinct where she was evaluated and they determined she was unharmed.

Detectives stated her explanation matched the timeline and corresponded to witnesses who had been calling into report seeing Abbey.

“Detectives, Deputies, search and rescue personnel believe this 10 y/o was very lucky and are relieved we did not have a tragic ending to this dangerous situation,” the department said in a press release

The King County Sheriff’s Office began searching for the missing 10-year-old East Redmond girl after she was reported missing by her father on the afternoon of Sept. 14.

According to the father he last saw his daughter at about 4:00 p.m. at their house in East Redmond after searching for her himself.

Abbey is 5’01”, 95 pounds with blond hair and blue eyes.  She was wearing a red Pokemon t-shirt, a large gray hooded sweatshirt, black leggings, blue jeans shorts, and light turquoise Keens.

The Sheriff’s Office called out search and rescue, tracking dogs, and a helicopter to assist the search for Abbey.
