“Celebrating the Dream,” a tribute to the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. will be held on Monday, Jan. 18 from noon to 3 p.m. at the Crossroads Bellevue Market Stage (corner of 156th and NE 8th). The event is free and will feature a variety of entertainment and a health fair.
Scheduled Entertainment:
Eastside Dream Elite Cheer (youth cheer musical routines) – 12:30 p.m.
Ocheami (African drum and dance) – 1 p.m.
Hip Hop Handbook (Rap and Hip Hop Dance) – 1:40 p.m.
Sonny Byers Band (Old School Classic Rhythm and Blues) – 2:20 p.m.
The health fair will include more than 15 representatives from nonprofit and public agencies in King County, and will provide attendees with information about health and health services available in the area. The health fair is sponsored by the Bellevue Alumnae Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a nonprofit organization predominately comprised of African American college-educated women who have been serving the Bellevue area since 1989. The purpose of the health fair is to provide information about community health resources and events that have an impact on all communities to assist in making informed health choices.
The event is sponsored by the city of Bellevue Parks & Community Services Cultural Diversity Program, Crossroads Bellevue Shopping Center and the Bellevue Alumnae Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
