Bellevue utilities will do major road work on Northeast 24th Street, replacing an aging water main along eight blocks.

A work zone will extend eastward from 156th Avenue Northeast, past Interlake High School and will end at the corner of Sherwood Forest Elementary School at 164th Avenue Northeast.

Construction will begin Monday, Feb. 15 and is planned to continue through May 31.

Construction hours will be Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists can expect heavy equipment, noise, traffic delays and delivery of materials.

Parents, students and teachers arriving at the two schools along the route should plan for delays.

The work is planned to help ensure a reliable water supply.
