MulvannyG2 golf tournament raises $97,000 for Komen
MulvannyG2 Architecture’s 8th annual golf tournament raised $97,000 to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Puget Sound Affiliate, at Inglewood Golf Club in Kenmore. MulvannyG2 presented a check to Joni Earl, CEO of Sound Transit and President of the Komen Puget Sound Board of Directors, on Oct. 8, in support of breast cancer awareness month.
MulvannyG2’s cumulative donation from the event has now peaked to more than $717,000 aiding in the fight against breast cancer.
This year’s top-level sponsors included RMC Constructors, Fresno, Calif., Constructora Maiz Mier, Mexico, and Gray Construction, Lexington, Ky. Emmy-award winning reporter Christine Chen served as awards master of ceremonies.
“We are passionate about finding a cure for breast cancer as it affects the lives of so many people we know,” said Mitch Smith, MulvannyG2 CEO. “We feel very fortunate to have such close friendships with our colleagues and are very grateful for their support in making our Swing for the Cure golf tournament a success, especially in these tough economic times.”
More than 150 of MulvannyG2’s retail and commercial clients, industry consultants, and friends attended the tournament on July 26. The money was raised through sponsorships, contests, and a silent and live auction.
In addition to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, MulvannyG2 contributes funds and volunteer hours regularly to United Way, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Children’s Hospital, College Success Foundation, Communities in Schools, Seattle Architectural Foundation, Kin On, Nikkei Concerns, and numerous other community activities and educational foundations.
