Truce
The Westin Bellevue, Suite 400, 600 Bellevue Way N.E. The spa is open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. For reservations call 425-454-0622.
The Westin Bellevue offers many luxury components – a heated indoor lap pool, Reebok Gym workout room and Manzana Rotisserie Grill.
If that is not impressive enough, the popular hotel just added one more reason to visit – a 4,000-square-foot spa on the forth floor.
Truce, an independently-owned spa, caters to hotel guests and the public, offering an extensive list of facial and body services.
The spa’s owner, Carol Loya, envisioned opening a spa in the heart of downtown Bellevue that would be a place where people could come to escape for a hour or for the day.
The Westin has long been a desired venue for weddings and now Truce will be available to pamper the wedding party and guests prior to the special occasion with treatment packages.
When developing the concept for the new spa, Loya felt it was important to offer her clients services that utilized organic and all-natural products.
“People are coming into Truce to get the toxins out so they’re wanting to use products that are more natural on their skin and will bring out the impurities,” Loya explained. “Some people are hesitant because they don’t think natural products show an immediate result, but our clients are pleasantly surprised when they come out of a facial and see glowing skin and immediate results.”
Truce carries organic facial products by Eminence, an award-winning line made in Hungary. Each product is created with European certified premium herbs, fruits, and flower buds.
During the facial, the esthetician uses an infusion of fresh apple and grape natural fruit acids for exfoliation and paprika and other fresh herbs to stimulate circulation. The facial ends with a cooling application of chilled organic masques and leaves the skin glowing, toned and detoxified.
The menu of massage treatments allow clients to choose from a selection of massage oils by Jamu. The oils are offered in four tropical aromatherapy scents including Coconilla, Island Fruit, Bali Flowers and Thai. Jamu products are natural, organic, animal and cruelty free and biodegradable.
When a traditional massage won’t quite cut it, clients have the option of Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy. This treatment consist of a barefoot therapist using their feet to perform deep compressions to bring about structural change and deep relaxation. Therapists use bars set in the ceiling to balance themselves.
“This is a very popular massage because it really gets into the deep tissue and the therapists are so skillful you wouldn’t know it’s feet,” Loya said.
Each massage room includes an iPod docking station on the wall and the sessions range from 60 to 90 minutes.
A couple’s massage room has two massage tables side by side for the Couples Journey treatment.
Additionally, Truce is the only merchant in Washington that carries make-up products by celebrity make-up artist, Kevyn Aucoin. The Kevyn Aucoin Beauty line includes a variety of products, beauty tools and authored books on tips and techniques for application.
Additional services include waxing, Magic Tan/Air Tan and eyelash extensions by Xtreme Lashes. Manicures and pedicures are performed using Zoya nail polish, a durable nail polish that comes in hundreds of colors. The polish is a safe version for pregnant women because it is free of harmful toxins including Toluene, Formaldehyde, and DBP.
“I took careful consideration when selecting the products I wanted to use my spa,” Loya explained. “I really wanted to capture a natural experience for your senses, body and mind. Truce is a place to come and escape to peace and forget where you’ve come from.”
