A 2013 Newport High graduate obtained a perfect score on her Advanced Placement Microeconomics exam, according to a press release from the Bellevue School District.
The student, Amy Hou, was one of only 33 in the world to obtain a perfect score on the test administered in May. Nearly 68,000 students took the exam worldwide in 2013, putting Hou in a class comprised of fewer than 0.05 percent of test takers. Scores on AP exams often qualify for college credit, depending on the institution.
The AP Microeconomics exam consists of a multiple choice section and a free-response section.
Hou currently attends Emory University.
