The Newport High School Jazz I ensemble, led by director Matt Eisenhauer, will compete Thursday at the Savannah Music Festival in Savannah, Ga.

As part of the 2010 Swing Central High School Jazz Band Competition & Workshop, the Newport band will perform on Savannah’s main tourist thoroughfare, River Street, at noon Thursday (Pacific time).
