Northwest Parkinson’s Foundation to offer workshop in Bellevue

The Northwest Parkinson’s Foundation will offer a wellness workshop to enhance personal health and healing for people with Parkinson’s disease, caregivers and their families.

Dr. Monique Giroux, Medical Director for the Booth Gardner Parkinson’s Care Center, and The Northwest Parkinson’s Foundation, Sierra Farris, Dr. Jan Fite, Ph.D. and Dr. Martha Glisky, Ph.D. will make presentations and teach how self-care tools like the NWPF’s virtual Wellness Center can help people set and track their own personal wellness goals.

Presentations will include:

• Nutrition – Learn to make healthy food choices for Parkinson’s and obtain practical advice on vitamins and supplements

• Exercise and Fitness – Learn about the body’s physical changes with Parkinson’s and aging, the benefits of exercise and motivational tips to keep people going.

• Stress Management and Emotional Health – Learn how stress affects the body and symptoms, simple techniques people can do to reduce stress and the power of positive thinking.

Admission and parking is free with a complimentary box lunch.

The conference will from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 20 at Hilton Hotel Bellevue Conference Center,

Grand Ballroom, 300 112th Ave. SE, Bellevue.
