Denton Thomas “Bud” Rose died Oct. 13, 2009 in Bellevue. He was 82.
Mr. Rose was born Jan. 15, 1927 in Yakima, the son of Oscar and Emma Rose. He grew up in White Swan on the Yakima Indian Reservation and was nicknamed “Buddy”. After service in the U.S. Navy, he married his sweetheart, Elizabeth (Betty) Stetner on June 18, 1947. They moved to Seattle in 1958 where Mr. Rose enrolled in a barber school. He worked at Ken’s Barber Shop at Crossroads in Bellevue until 1989. After retirement he worked for Vince’s Barber Shop in Bellevue.
His lifelong passion was being a “ham” radio operator.
Another passion for Mr. Rose and his wife was traveling in their motor home across the country in a family caravan of motor homes.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years; two daughters, Susan Wren of Mt Vernon Debbie Rose-Armstrong (Jerry) of Bothell; four grandchildren; brother, Ron Baker (JoAnne) of Bellevue ; sister, Nadine Gillis (Walt) of Arroyo Grande, Calif., and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Friday October 23, 2009 at St Andrews Lutheran Church, 2650 -148th Ave. SE, Bellevue.
