Larry T. Hawkes, of Bellevue and Lopez Island, died Saturday June 6, 2009. He was 73.

Mr. Hawkes was born on De. 17, 1935 in Seattle, the son of Kenneth and Winifred Hawkes. He attended Bellevue High School and played on the football team. He served in the U.S. Army in the mid-fifties and explored the German and Austrian countryside. His career in real estate focused on land development in the Puget Sound area.

Mr. Hawkes was an outdoorsman and enjoyed boating, horses, fishing and cooking pancakes over a beach fire.

He is survived by his father, children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his month and sister.
