One man was taken to Harborview Medical Center after a car crash on Bellevue Way, near the ramps for Interstate 90.

Northbound Bellevue Way Southeast is closed near the South Bellevue Park and Ride, and only one lane is open heading south, police say.

The crash occurred at 2:50 p.m. at Bellevue Way and Southeast 30th Street. Police said the driver of a 1999 BMW attempting to pull out of a U-turn at the Sweyolocken boat ramp was struck by a mid-size Mitsubishi truck, said Bellevue Fire Spokesman Lt. Eric Keenan. The driver of the BMW was trapped and “pretty badly injured,” Keenan said. Police said the injuries are life-threatening. He had to be removed from the car using the “Jaws of Life.”

Bellevue police said the driver of the truck was not injured, and alcohol is not a factor, police said.
