ParentMap is offering Education Extravaganza, one of the Greater Seattle area’s largest, free education event from 5-8 p.m., Oct. 11 at Meydenbauer Center. Representatives from more than 80 schools, in addition to learning specialists, tutors and extracurricular activities will come together under one roof in an effort to make supporting families’ education needs.
Attendees of the Education Extravaganza will also have the opportunity to listen to local education leaders speak on age-specific hot topics throughout the event, including:
– Jackie Ferrado of Washington’s Guaranteed Education Tuition (GET). “Funding Your Child’s College Education” from 5:15-5:45 p.m.
– Anoo Padte, education coach. “Elementary School: Finding the Right Fit” from 6-6:30 p.m.
– Sherry Carton-Burke of Committee for Children. “Digital Tween Fads: Navigating Healthy Boundaries” from 6:45 p.m.-7:15 p.m.
– Adie Simmons, Washington State Education Ombudsman. “Support Your Child’s Success: Positive School-Family Partnerships” from 7:30-8:30 p.m.
The event boasts several kid-friendly elements as well, including an educationally-themed, family magic show by Jeff Evans of Edumazement (edumazing.com), and a craft table in the lobby space of the event. Families can take a break from touring the education resources and head to these engaging activities.
All attendees will be entered-to-win a $2,500 tuition credit toward their child’s educational costs. Those who RSVP online will also be entered-to-win a family four-pack of tickets to see the Pacific Northwest Ballet’s “Nutcracker.”
