Overlake Hospital Auxiliaries will host the 2012 Bandage Ball gala event and auction on Saturday, March 24. Proceeds from the event will benefit a new, state-of-the-art neonatal intensive care unit, which will care for premature and vulnerable babies born at Overlake.
The gala begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue.
“The Bandage Ball has grown into one of the Eastside’s premier events,” said Molly Stearns, Overlake’s vice president of fund development and executive director of the foundation and auxiliaries. “The brand new NICU will be a tremendous asset to Overlake and will enhance our ability to serve at-risk, acutely ill newborns while providing mothers and fathers with the peace of mind their child is receiving expert care.”
The new NICU will provide advanced facilities, clinical expertise and cutting-edge equipment to care for seriously ill infants and their families. The improved training and technology will allow Overlake, in partnership with Seattle Children’s, to care for newborns as young as 26 weeks gestation, keeping more babies close to their homes on the Eastside.
The 2012 Bandage Ball will feature dinner, dancing, entertainment, a live auction and will mark the official launch of a private fundraising campaign to raise additional major gifts for local individuals and foundations. The auction theme this year is Eat, Drink & Be Merry, with items including restaurant gift certificates, wine and specialty liquors and unique experiences.
KOMO 4 Morning News Anchors Brad Goode and Peggy Bunker will serve as auctioneer and emcee, respectively. The Overlake Hospital Auxiliaries’ Bandage Ball is the largest fundraising event of the year to benefit Overlake. It has raised millions of dollars over the years and more than $700,000 last year alone.
Tickets are $250 per person. For tickets or to volunteer, contact Muffie Signalness at 425-688-5529 or auxiliaries@overlakehospital.org.
