Overlake Hospital Medical Center has received three grants from local foundations and groups — Bellevue Rotary, The Employees Community Fund of Boeing Puget Sound, and the Puget Sound Energy Foundation — to support the hospital’s investment in new medical technology and patient programs.
“Overlake is a nonprofit, non-tax-supported hospital that relies on donations from local businesses and the community so that we can continue providing world-class, comprehensive healthcare services to residents of the Eastside and beyond,” said David Aubery, Executive Director of the Overlake Hospital Foundation and Auxiliaries and Vice President of Fund Development. “We are extremely grateful to these generous groups for their ongoing support and for working with us to improve the quality of life for our community.”
Bellevue Rotary awarded Overlake a Community Grant for $3,800 to invest in new equipment for the more than 400 infants cared for each year in Overlake’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The Rotary grant will help provide the lifesaving care of a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine to help fragile newborns breathe, thrive and go home safe and healthy to their families.
The Bellevue Rotary Community Grant program provides funding for community service oriented projects that benefit residents in Bellevue and the Eastside.
The Employees Community Fund of Boeing Puget Sound (ECF) contributed $37,170 to purchase two new incubators for Overlake’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. These high-tech isolettes help maintain the proper environmental conditions for the special needs of premature infants.
ECF is a unique employee-owned charitable foundation. Since 2007, the Employees Community Fund has funded $73,850 in direct grants to support Overlake.
The Puget Sound Energy Foundation awarded the Overlake Hospital Foundation a $3,000 grant to support Overlake’s Senior Care outreach program. This gift will help fund the Senior Care Connections newsletter, a resource for senior patients upon leaving the hospital.
