Overlake Hospital’s Active Senior Fair will combine entertainment, lectures and free health screenings from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 10 at Westminster Chapel.
The event will begin at 10:15 a.m. with an hour fashion show by Coldwater Creek of Bellevue Square highlighting the Spring 2012 Collection. It will be emceed by KIXI Radio Program Director Dan Murphy.
Other entertainment events are:
11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.: Steve the Pretty Good, comedy and magic.
12:45-1:45 p.m.: Spring 2012 by Wrinkles of Washington, a song and dance musical revue.
2-3 p.m. Drama in the Garden: New Plants and New Ideas by Marianne Binetti, Pacific Northwest horticulture expert.
A number of lectures also will be given, including:
10:15-11 a.m.: Keeping Your Mind Fit as You Age, by Hank Williams, MD, Overlake Medical Clinics Bellevue Senior Health. Sponsored by Synergy Home Care.
11:15 a.m. to noon: Sleep Issues with Seniors, by Scott Bonvallet, MD, Overlake Sleep Disorders Center.
12:15-1 p.m.: Better Vision: Technology Advances & Nutritional Insights, by Michael Gilbert, MD, Northwest Vision Institute.
1:15-2 p.m.: Keeping the Heart Beating, by Robert Binford, MD, Overlake Medical Clinics Cardiothoracic Surgery.
Free screenings will include those for balance, blood pressure, bone density, cholesterol, glucose (no fasting required), foot issues, hearing, stroke risk assessment and vision.
In addition, more than 60 exhibitors will showcase products and services geared toward the active senior.
A soup and salad buffet luncheon offered by Catering by John will be available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Prices range from $4 to $7.50.
There will be free parking at the site and no preregistration is required. Westminster Chapel is located at 13646 NE 24th Street, Bellevue.
