Does your child’s behavior leave you feeling frustrated or stuck?
Do you think back on your own behavior and just wish you had done something differently?
Physician, parent educator and author Jody McVittie will help people find the highly effective parent already within them in a public lecture beginning at 7 p.m. April 20 in Bellevue College’s Carlson Theatre.
In her presentation, entitled “Parenting with Courage and Connection,” McVittie will help audience members to see the best in themselves and remind them that, inside, they really do know how to be effective parents.
Participants will leave with simple practices to create the kind of home they desire and to grow healthy, capable, responsible and respectful youth.
McVittie is co-author of the Positive Discipline Workbook and BRIDGES: Building Relationships for Improved Discipline, academic Gains and Effective Schools.
The evening, sponsored by Bellevue College’s Parent Education Advisory Board and Swedish Hospital, will conclude with a reception for the speaker.
Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door, and may be purchased by calling 206-890-2691.
