A pedestrian was hospitalized Wednesday night after being struck by a vehicle while in a crosswalk at the intersection of Forest Drive and Southeast 60th Street in Bellevue.
Police report the pedestrian was wearing dark clothing when they attempted to cross the street just after dusk, however, crosswalk lighting appeared to be operational. The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center with severe head injuries and sustained multiple fractures. A condition update on the pedestrian will not be provided by police unless “it’s really bad,” according to police.
The driver was reportedly not impaired when the accident occurred and police state the case appears to be failure to yield to a pedestrian, but the report has not yet been completed. Police have not provided identification for either the driver or pedestrian.
