People in and around Bellevue making news this week

Gunther Klimes, who will graduate from Bellevue High School in 2015, has verbally committed to West Point to play basketball. Klimes was an All-KingCo honorees this year for the Wolverines.

 

Four students from Bellevue have graduated from Linfield College in McMinnville, Ore. They are: Katherine Louise Allison, bachelor of arts, international business, bachelor of arts, theatre arts (cum laude); Kendra Renee Barton, bachelor of arts, political science; Joseph Charette Gale, bachelor of arts, environmental studies – science focus; Jake Thomas Hillyer, bachelor of science, biochemistry & molecular biology (summa cum laude).

 

Kristin Neal of Bellevue has been named to the dean’s list at the University of Montana in Missoula, Mont. for the spring semester.

 

Ethan William Moffat of Bellevue has graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Seattle Pacific University.

 

Robert Hallock, a teacher at Sammamish High School, was one of 100 social studies educators selected to travel to Germany from July 4-19 on a two-week, all-expenses-paid study/travel seminar. Highlights of the summer study/travel seminars include: Q&A sessions with executives of the Federal Foreign Office, German curriculum developers, authors, and German teachers; visits to German schools; a personal tour of the Reichstag and visits to various museums.
