Bellevue Police continue to investigate the suspicious death of a 23-year-old woman last weekend.
Police were called to a house in the 14600 block of Southeast 19th Place just after 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3 after someone called 911 to report the woman’s death.
According to police spokesman Greg Grannis, at this time it is a suspicious death and not a murder. Police have yet to determine whether a crime was committed. The results of a toxicology screening could take several weeks to complete, he explained.
There were no obvious signs of trauma or violence and police did not receive any disturbance calls at the address, Grannis said in an earlier statement.
The woman is not believed to be a Bellevue resident and her identity has yet to be released. Detectives obtained a search warrant Sunday, Jan. 4 to examine the home’s interior. A 26-year-old male resident of the home was arrested on unrelated traffic warrants.
The cause of death will be determined by the Medial Examiner.
