After running the serial numbers through their database and posting information and photos on Twitter and Nextdoor.com, they have yet to locate the owners.

“This is a great example of why serial numbers of valuables, including bikes, should be recorded and kept in a safe location in case of theft,” Bellevue Police spokesperson Seth Tyler told the Reporter.

In the case of bicycles, police need the serial number in order to enter a stolen bicycle into our databases or on bicycle registration websites such as www.bikeindex.org in the event of a theft, Tyler said.

Anyone with information about the recovered bicycles should contact the Bellevue Police Department.
