Police say they’ve caught ‘Movie Bandits’

Redmond Police have arrested two suspects they call the "Movie Bandits" and who have committed a series of vehicle prowls and burglaries over the past several months. The crimes hit homeowners in Bellevue and Medina as well other cities in the Greater Seattle area and the state.

 

Redmond Police have arrested two suspects they call the “Movie Bandits” and who have committed a series of vehicle prowls and burglaries over the past several months. The crimes hit homeowners in Bellevue and Medina as well other cities in the Greater Seattle area and the state.

The crimes consisted of vehicles being broken into while parked in public places such as movie theaters or shopping centers. After stealing the vehicle registration and other valuables, the suspects proceeded to the victim’s residence knowing they weren’t home.

Redmond Police arrested a 31-year-old male and a 36-year-old female, both from Bothell, after police went to Bothell to arrest the female suspect for rendering criminal assistance. When they arrived, the say a man fled the area. Police captured him with the help of a service dog, Vader.

Police believe the two suspects account for at least 27 residential burglaries, 4 commercial burglaries, 17 vehicle prowls, 4 attempted burglaries, 8 stolen vehicles, and 1 fraud.
