Bellevue Police are requesting the public’s help in locating a suspect with ties to a nationwide theft operation, who has been linked to several stolen credit card transactions on Eastside.

Hector Segundo Molina-Escobar is alleged to have used credit cards stolen from victims in Bellevue, Renton, Woodinville and Lynwood to make more than $10,000 in purchases on Dec. 4, 2013, a Bellevue detective later tying the suspect to a dozen traveling identity thieves moving throughout the United States through Colorado and North Carolina law enforcement agencies.

The thieves only stay in one state for a few days, according to police, which makes tracking them difficult. Police report the identity thieves target victims at grocery stores, stealing wallets from purses and quickly making high-dollar purchases.

A nationwide extradition warrant has been issued for Molina-Escobar in connection to the King County theft cases, who is also wanted in seven states for alleged theft activities.

Crimestoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for any tip leading to his arrest and prosecution. Confidential tips can be made at 1-800-222-TIPS, or contact the Bellevue Police Department at pdtipline@bellevuewa.gov.
