State Patrol to crack down on drinking drivers
State Patrol Troopers will team up with law enforcement agencies throughout the state to reduce the number of alcohol related collisions.
In the Bellevue area and elsewhere in King County, DUI emphasis patrols will go on throughout the holiday season. The troopers will work overtime shifts as part of the crackdown.
“The holiday season should be a time for families to spend time together in joy and gladness, not in morning and sadness” said Washington State Patrol Chief John Batiste. “Choosing not to drink and drive will help make this holiday season safer.”
During the 2007 holiday season there were 31 deaths caused by drinking drivers.
