A 22-year-old Renton man has been charged with a drive-by shooting in the Phantom Lake neighborhood earlier this month.
Jose Alfredo Del Rio Flores is alleged to have driven to a home in the 2000 block of 154th Ave. SE. on Nov. 11 and started shooting. NORCOM received several 911 calls about the shots, and responding police officers found a car outside of the home riddled with bullet holes, according to police records.
The intended target — who lived at the residence and knew the suspect — and other residents were unharmed. He had reportedly received threatening messages from Del Rio Flores, who also sent the victim a message with a “thumbs up” emoji after the shooting, according to court documents.
Investigators were able to track down the suspect at his residence in Renton, where he was taken into custody later that day by the Bellevue Police Special Investigations Team and SWAT team. The gun used in the crime was also recovered.
Del Rio Flores was charged with a one felony count of drive-by shooting in King County Superior Court on Nov. 16.
