Feb. 8

Party foul: The subject was found asleep on the couch at Lincoln Square, with a bottle of Yukon Jack next to him. He was removed for trespassing.

Heroin, credit card fix: Officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver for driving with a suspended license. The suspect was found with a baggie of heroin, a Nordstrom card and Costco card belonging to different females. Additional suspected stolen property was seized as evidence.

Feb. 9

Drugstore drama: The suspect attempted to walk out of Bartell Drugs with unpaid items in her shopping cart. She was detained by employees and escorted to a back room. The suspect decided she wanted to leave, and when an employee blocked her path with outstretched arms, the suspect head-butted the employee in the face, leaving the employee with swollen, bleeding lips and scratches on her face. The suspect was sent to King County Jail.

Rock hard: Officers responded to the Park Highlands Apartments for a reported prowl in progress. An officer contacted one suspect and learned he had two outstanding felony warrants. The suspect was found in possession of four folding knives and a large can of bear mace. The second suspect was located by another officer, who noticed the suspect make two furtive movements toward his pocket. The suspect was detained and a pocket knife was recovered. When the second suspect stood up, a clear plastic bag with a rock of suspected heroin was observed sticking out from the zippered fly of his pants.

Missed point: A city of Bellevue plumbing inspector found her work vehicle in the City Hall garage with all of its doors open. She believed she might have been targeted by an unknown, unhappy plumbing inspectee, so she reported a car prowl to police. It was later established that a city security guard had found the car unlocked overnight, opened all of the doors and photographed the car to make a point (i.e. that all city vehicles should be locked overnight). Unfortunately, the security guard left the vehicle in that condition until the inspector returned to work the next day.

Getaway: An unknown suspect was able to obtain the victim’s checking account information and made purchases on Expedia worth over $5,000. The victim does not know how the suspect(s) obtained her account information.

Feb. 12

Scissor explusion: A Newport High School student was apparently angry at a fellow student for bumping into him in the lunch line the day before. He confronted the student during lunch while wielding a large pair of scissors. A physical struggle ensued, and the scissor-wielder was detained. There were no injuries. The suspect received an emergency expulsion from school.

DUI arrest: The suspect drove his Chevrolet Malibu at an excessive speed north on Bellevue Way Northeast. Officers stopped the vehicle and found the suspect was covered in his own vomit, and arrested him for a DUI.

Feb. 13

Unhappy hostage: Around 10:45 a.m., NORCOM received a 911 call from a subject stating that she was being held hostage and needed help. The location tracking showed she was near the 2600 block of 145 Ave SE. An officer contacted family members and learned that the “victim” was moved into a new nursing home — Bellevue Haven — and does not like it there. She had made two previous 911 calls from the same number the day before. A welfare check confirmed that she was OK.
