Kindering, the Bellevue-based center for children with special needs, raised $550,000 for its programs at the 20th annual gala fundraiser held March 1 at the Grand Hyatt Seattle.

The nonprofit organization treats children with developmental delays caused by autism, cerebral palsy, chromosomal abnormalities, impaired vision, complications from premature birth, abuse or neglect.

Kindering reports it helped 3,500 children, and their families, in 2013.
