The Bellevue City Council is seeking candidates for a vacancy on the Planning Commission created by the departure of Jennifer Robertson, who was elected to the council.
The Planning Commission reviews, recommends and proposes amendments to Bellevue’s comprehensive plan and land use code. The commission also recommends and reviews studies of geographic subareas in the city.
Prior to making recommendations, the Planning Commission obtains public input through public hearings and other methods.
Whoever is appointed will serve the remainder of Robertson’s term, which ends in May 2011. The new member will be eligible for reappointment to a full four-year term.
The Planning Commission meets as needed on Wednesdays, usually once or twice a month, 6:30 to 10 p.m. at City Hall.
Members of the city’s volunteer boards and commissions (with the exception of the Environmental Services Commission) are Bellevue residents. Residents in newly annexed areas are particularly encouraged to apply. Bellevue values diversity.
Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 30. To apply online or with a hard-copy application, go to www.bellevuewa.gov/apply-boards.htm or pick up an application at City Hall, 450 110th Ave. NE.
