The Bellevue-based Second Amendment Foundation plans to load the airwaves with pro-gun rights advertising on Sunday, Dec. 15, with its “Guns Save Lives Day” to coincide with Bill of Rights Day.
The organization states in a release that the goal behind pumping “hundreds of thousands of dollars” into advertising is to show that guns save lives and to denounce the use of gun-free zones.
“While others will exploit national tragedies to push an agenda of victim disarmamen, those of us involved in ‘Guns Save Lives Day’ have a different message that the public has a right to hear,” said Alan Gottlieb in the prepared statement. Gottlieb is quickly becoming the face of gun rights movement, appearing in more than 300 television spots a year to promote his message. “The proper use of firearms in emergency situations can make a difference to the safety of would-be victims, whether they are night-shift grocery clerks, single moms, senior citizens or small business owners.”
The vice president for SAF, Gottlieb states advertising has been purchased on Fox News, Dish TV and Glenn Beck’s Blaze Network, as well as radio advertising with SiriusXM and national conservative radio talk shows.
