A Washington State Patrol trooper suffered minor injuries Sunday night when a vehicle lost control on Interstate 405 in Bellevue and struck the officer’s vehicle while he was investigating another collision on the side of the road.

WSP reports 47-year-old Shansi He of Seattle was traveling southbound on I-405 around 5:40 p.m. when he lost control of his 2013 Honda CRV and collided with Trooper Anatoliy Nazariya’s patrol vehicle near the I-90 westbound exit where the 28-year-old officer was investigating an accident.

He and his passenger, 43-year-old Weiming Chen of Boise were transported to Harborview Medical Center where they were treated and released. Charges are pending. This is the second accident to occur near the exit in the past two weeks involving a WSP patrol car.
